Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • In assigned projects be the interface of Mechanical Engineering to enable delivery of all project phases and ensure Time to Market is as per company strategic objectives
  • Provide mechanical component, assembly and product design, with verification and implementation on key projects for new and re-engineering of Kaelus Group products
  • To ensure best practice approach for Design for Manufacture including Throughput, Yield, Cost and Product Quality
  • To compile manufacturing documentation and training and support reliability analysis and testing.
  • Provide support to Factory and Quality department

What you will be doing:

  • Creation and management of mechanical design, 3D models and drawings according to ISO standards using SolidWorks and/or SolidEdge
  • Creation and maintenance of bill of materials in our PLM system
  • Management of changes through the ECN procedures
  • Design of jigs, fixtures and packaging
  • Plan and execute mechanical reliability / environmental testing
  • Support for design reviews and initiating Design for Manufacture and Cost reviews
  • Review of mechanical properties of parts and assemblies
  • (thermal, mechanical stress etc) using 3D analysis software.
  • Support procurement and management of design samples
  • Support prototype building / assembly
  • Support for qualification of new suppliers Improving design and qualification procedures
  • and formalising methods
  • Investigation of new suppliers for existing and new technologies for cost reduction
  • Investigation of new materials and processes
  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager/Project Manager on daily and weekly objectives
  • Providing support for Quality activities in response to customer inputs and internal audits and CARs.
  • Any other ad hoc duties requested by Engineering

Education, Skills & Experience

  • This is a Graduate level position
  • Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering and 0-2 years working experience or equivalent
  • Experience from working with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and/or SolidEdge
  • Knowledge of machining, casting, moulding, coating and plating processes
  • Knowledge of RoHS, WEEE and REACH
  • Experience from working with machinery, i.e. milling machine, lathe is meriting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
