TMA2100

TWIN TMA 850/1900, BYPASS

NON-DIPLEXED LOW/HIGH BAND ANTENNA PORTS

Designed to be deployed in co-located 850MHz and 1900 networks, the Kaelus TMA2100 provides gain in the 850 uplink and in the 1900 uplink, using independent LNAs per band and per channel. Low loss bypass of AWS and 700L bands for non-intrusive PIM testing are also provided.

FEATURES

  • Improved base station sensitivity through excellent noise figure performance and linearity
  • AISG 2.0 compatible, full software upgradable using AISG “personality” upload
  • DC/AISG passthrough to PCS antenna
  • AISG OUT connector disabled when AISG device (SBT equipped antenna) present on PCS antenna
  • One AISG subunit per LNA, 4 in total. All fixed gain.
  • Passive AWS band and 700L band response for feedline/antenna non-intrusive PIM testing

power supply and alarm (current window alarm mode, default)
Current window alarm mode (CWA) is the default operating mode and can be configured to specific customer requirements. The TMA2100 is configured so that all LNAs are powered regardless of which BTS port has DC power. If DC is applied on only one port, the normal DC supply current will exceed the value tabled below. Please contact Kaelus for more information.
DC supply voltage+8.5 to +18V DC, case is DC ground
DC supplyEach BTS port powered individually
DC supply current, normal mode200mA per port typical (both ports are powered)
DC supply current, alarm mode300mA per port typicall (both ports are powered)
aisg mode of operation (auto selected on valid aisg 2.0 frames)
AISG signals can be applied to either BTS port. The TMA unit switches to AISG mode when valid frames are detected on either BTS port. All LNAs take DC power from the port with the AISG frames or, if DC is present on both ports, power will be supplied equally between the ports. Each LNA is controlled uniquely by its sub-unit number.
DC supply voltage+7.5V to +30V DC
AISG version2.0 (1.1 optional)
Supply current, AISG mode500mA @ 7.5V, 135mA @ 30V typical
AISG connector, current ratingIEC60130-9, 8-pin female, < 4A peak, 2A continuous, pin 6
Field firmware upgradableYes
AISG pass through to antenna portYes
antenna aisg and dc
When DC is applied to the TMA, it is initially switched through to ANT1 port. If a nominal DC current is measured (<2A), DC and AISG are passed through the ANT1 port for antenna AISG control and AISG OUT - 8PIN connector is disabled. If a short circuit is present (>4A) the ANT1 port is disabled and DC and AISG is passed to the AISG OUT port. If a nominal load is measured on the AISG OUT, DC and AISG are passed out the AISG OUT port for antenna AISG control through an external AISG cable. If the AISG OUT port is also a short circuit, the AISG OUT port is also disabled. After AISG routing is determined monitoring of the DC and AISG continues, a short circuit on either enabled port will shut down the affected port, if ANT1 port is shut down DC and AISG will be routed to the AISG OUT port if available.

Note1: Expected current drawn <2A. If the current rises above 2A but remains below 4A, the current will continue to be monitored for a further 15 seconds. If it remains above 2A after 15 seconds the DC/AISG will be disabled
Note 2: To re-enable the DC/AISG feed on ANT1 and/or AISG port, the TMA will need to be re-started.
