Locate external PIM Sources - PIM Finder

Over the years, we have seen a steady increase in the complexity of antenna tower architecture. It is nowadays common to see cellular infrastructures supporting multiple frequencies bands. Although each system can, individually, perform within the expected PIM level, when mixing with other bands, stronger PIM signals can be generated and deafen the radio's receivers. This is mostly seen in 700 MHz networks (US) and co-located 700 MHz and 800 MHz networks (Europe).

The Kaelus PIM Finder is a solution designed to identify and locate external PIM sources. It is used to troubleshoot external PIM by replicating the cross-band PIM scenario and thus more accurately searching for the PIM sources. External PIM sources come in many different forms, e.g. corroded metal, loose metal objects, or objects that are non-linear in the proximity of the radiating antenna.

The main objective of the Kaelus PIM Finder Solution is to help identify the location of external PIM sources and quickly suppress these interfering signals using different methods, like removing or covering the PIM source.

The Kaelus PIM Finder solution is ideal for all testing scenarios including tower, rooftop, DAS and small cell sites.
